What Are The Best Fonts For Your Resume
Have you ever thought about what font to use on your English resume? Have you ever thought about how bad fonts can distract people from looking at your resume?
Since we all know that a résumé is the first thing a company sees about you, we need to make a good impression, which means we need to pick our fonts well.
According to a survey conducted by Bloomberg, Helvetica is the best font to use on an English résumé. Helvetica is described as a rational, respectable and timeless font.
If you don’t agree with Helvetica, other experts say that Calibri is the best because it is neat and professional, but not boring.
Garamond is an easy-to-read font and feels elegant. Garamond is recommended if you want to cram everything into one page.
An alternative to Garamond is Georgia, a font that has a stylish feel. One thing to note is that the Georgia font looks better on the computer than print out.
For Times New Roman there are some controversies, some people say that this is the classic font, but some people say that the use of this is quite careless.
If you want to play it safe, use Arial instead of Times New Roman. It is described as clean and neutral.
For bad fonts, a strange and flamboyant font is better for flashy restaurant catalogs or wedding invitations. Experts recommend using fonts like Apple Chancery.
Also avoid fonts that feel like typewriters, like Courier.
The worst font is Comic Sans, the only place this font will appear is in comic books, not other professional documents.
