How To View Competitors’ Facebook Ads Through FB Ad Library?

Sometimes you may be curious about what kind of FB ad that some big brands or competitors are putting up, but you are not the target audience of their ads, so how can you get a peek?

It’s simple, use FB Ad Library to do so.

What is FB Ad Library?

In recent years, Facebook has come under a lot of criticism and questions on issues such as privacy, content interference, data leakage and elections, so Facebook has been asked by many people to improve transparency, and of course “ads” are no exception.

In 2018, Facebook launched the FB Ad Library, allowing everyone to see the ads placed on each Facebook page in order to improve information transparency.

How to check the ads through FB Ad Library ?

Method 1: Go to Ad Library directly

For example, I tried to search for the official adidas Originals in the US, but I couldn’t find it even after pulling the search result to the bottom.

At this point, you will have to link from the fan page as follows.

  1. Link to the target fan page.
  2. Find the “Fan Page Transparency” section and click the “View All” link on the right.
  3. On the “Fan Page Transparency” screen, click the “Go to Ad Library” button at the bottom.

What advertising information can we see?

General advertisements can only see basic information such as the ad copy, materials, guiding links, and publication time. When the advertisement belongs to the category of “social issues, elections or politics”, you can see detailed information, such as: advertising cost, exposure Frequency, publication area, gender and age of the display object, etc.

Why should we look at the advertisements of our competitors?
